Bryan Nelson

Retired / Geologist

Bryan L. Nelson co-founded Arena Energy in 1999. He served as Managing Director and Geologist before retiring in 2008. Mr. Nelson now serves as a Consulting Geologist for Arena Energy. During his career, Mr. Nelson specialized in the exploitation and development of oil and gas in the Gulf of Mexico, drilling over 70 wells there and in South Louisiana. In 1989, Mr. Nelson was a founding member of Newfield Exploration Company, where he was a key member of offshore acquisition team and participated in the formation and start-up of the South Louisiana Onshore team. He began his career with Tenneco Oil Company as a Geological Engineer. Mr. Nelson received a B.S. in Geological Engineering from the South Dakota School of Mines.
