Stephen Sprague
Asset Manager
Stephen Sprague joined Arena Energy in 2024. As asset manager for Central Eugene Island, he is responsible for coordinating all facets of the business, including production, reservoir and facilities engineering, working with the operations, marketing, regulatory and accounting teams. Before coming to Arena, Mr. Sprague was asset director at Talos Energy for the deepwater Eastern Gulf of Mexico. He moved into that role after serving as asset manager for the Gulf of Mexico at QuarterNorth Energy, Talos’s predecessor company, and serving as QuarterNorth’s transition lead during its integration into Talos. Previously he was an asset planning engineer at Fieldwood Energy. Earlier in his career Mr. Sprague held a range of reservoir engineer and completions engineer roles with increasing responsibility at Shell and BHP Billiton. Mr. Sprague is a PhD candidate in petroleum engineering at Texas A&M University, where his research concerns reserves and evaluations. He also earned a master’s degree in civil engineering from Texas A&M and holds a BS in civil engineering from the University of South Carolina. He maintains a Professional Engineer license in Texas for petroleum engineering.
